I live in Kansas and am new to this. Ever since I was diagnosed with hypothyroid and diabetes I have fought a losing battle with my weight. I gained even more weight when I quit smoking 14 years ago. I have tried several different diets to no avail. Hopefully this site will help me. I thinking keeping track of what I eat and seeing the area where I am failing will assist. My diabetes is out of control even with insulin.

I am an avid reader, and prefer books I can actually hold. I have 2 great daughters, 4 wonderful grandchildren and am looking to get healthy so I can spend many years to come with them.

I love the TV shows Frasier, Everybody loves Raymond, Medium, Walking Dead and Psych. Also love classic movies. I have a tuxedo cat names Skates (hence my nickname :) ) and I love cooking and creating new dishes.

Not much more I can think of to say right now, but wish me luck on getting me weight under control. Thanks!
