Hey everybody! It is very early morning (1:43 a.m.) here right now. I was just talking to my mom on the phone for a couple of hours. I love our long conversations. It is definitely keeping us sane while she is staying at Deer Meadows. I will stay on the phone with her for as long as she needs me to keep her company and get her through this in every way possible. I love hearing her beautiful voice.

I went to a job interview on Friday for Boscov's. I think that the interview went really well and fingers are crossed for a callback. She wasn't the hiring manager; she was filling in for the manager. We connected on many levels, we had a great conversation, she told me that I am "very promising", asked me when I was available to start, confirmed my telephone numbers with me, and told me that she was going to pass my application and information along to the hiring manager. I am incredibly excited and hope that it works out! In the meantime, I am submitting applications at different places that I am interested in working also.

After the interview, I went straight to the gym. It was my third day of the week at the gym. I was wearing formal attire for the interview with my beautiful $200 leather tote bag in tow. I packed some gym clothes and sneakers. I enjoyed the gym and grabbed something to eat. I was famished after that interview. ;)

After my Friday gym session, my brother called me and asked me if I wanted to go to Frightfest at Six Flags. We just purchased season passes. I told him no because I was really tired. My brother kept needling until I resigned and said, "Ok, fine. I'll go." My brother can be very convincing and does not take NO for an answer. 🤦‍♀️😂

I wound up having a really nice time at Frightfest. I was nervous about fitting on many of the rides. I was able to get on all of the rides that we went on!! There was one ride where I needed an accommodation, but I was incredibly happy overall. I was able to get on ALL OF THE RIDES! We purchased a gold dining pass as well which allows us a lunch, dinner, snack, and unlimited beverages every day we come to the park. Of course, I splurged when we were there. I ate a twisted soft pretzel with cheese, a chicken caesar salad, and those damn waffle fries! 😋 Frightfest was a blast! I will continue working on my goals, but that was HUGE that I didn't have to slink down "The Walk of Shame." In a previous year, yes. I had to leave some of the rides because I couldn't fit, the harness wouldn't buckle, etc. NOT THIS YEAR!! I will continue with this progress too! Keep plowing, everybody! It's all about the wins/gains along the way!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I really enjoyed my weekend. I went to a local farm called Fox Chase Farm on Saturday for their annual event called "Applefest." I really enjoyed the peacefulness of strolling around the farm, enjoyed the animals, live music, vendors, and food trucks. They were giving out caramel apples and cider. I have to really be in the mood for caramel apples. I had two cups of apple cider though! :) I enjoyed a 6-inch cheesesteak with mac and cheese for lunch. The vendors were great. I was able to pick up apple butter for family and friends. There weren't as many vendors as there were in previous years, but it was still a really nice day out. I really needed it.

I haven't really written in here for a while. It's been a tumultuous year. Back in September of 2020, we were coming home from Ocean City, MD. I was assisting my mom down the steps, and she accidentally fell down the very last step. A wound developed and just increased in size during this year. I have been back and forth with my mom to the hospital and wound care appointments to no avail. She was released from the hospital, we had physical and occupational therapists come out, and we also had wound care make home visits.

My mom was just recently rushed over to the hospital again, and she is currently in long-term care (rehabilitation). It has been extremely difficult on all of us, especially since we are unable to visit our mom due to positive cases of coronavirus on her floor. Thankfully, they are all under quarantine. Mom is in her own single room. I still have the opportunity to drop off care packages to her, pick up soiled garments, and meet up with her at appointments. This has been an extremely difficult and stressful hell this past year. I am really praying for her. My mom is truly a fighter. She has dealt with so much, and I look up to her for the obstacles that were thrown at her this year.

I am trying to keep busy while she is at the rehab center. I am going back to work outside of the home while she is under their care. I have also been trying to reconnect with friends that I haven't seen in some time. I have missed my friends so very much this past year. I wanted to dedicate all of my time to my mother despite her telling me to meet up with friends and go out. I just couldn't.

I am glad that I am getting out there and reconnecting again though. It is definitely a mental boost from all that we've been dealing with this year.

I absolutely enjoyed my Sunday too. My brother and sister asked me if I could pet sit for them. I love being around my nephew furbabies, Rocky and Jazz. I jumped at the chance. The dog, cat, and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable day together. It was wonderful seeing them. That was another day when I splurged and ordered a cheesesteak and french fries. I am so glad that I didn't have a gain over the weekend. In fact, I lost a little bit.

Here we go! Here is a new week! We are going back to the good fight! We can conquer! We are victorious! Nothing can bring us down! Plow through, everybody! :)
