5'3", 205lbs & 70 in September, living with my hubby & 2 dogs in Shropshire, West Midlands, UK. I've struggled with my weight since a hysterectomy & HRT in my early 40s. Before that I had no problems with my weight & actually struggled to gain being just 119lbs when I was 35! I've tried all the diets Slimming World, Weight Watchers & Keto but found them so limiting. I've now decided to go my own way by just trying to eat healthier, reduce my sugar & fat intake by small amounts to start with & increase my water intake & move more in a way that won't make me obsess over my food & stop me stressing.

I am trying to simply move more at home & add a walk outside as much as possible. I'm suffering with swollen ankles at the moment so have upped my water intake to hopefully alleviate the problem. Trouble is, I need the loo so much more often which is not condusive to long walks! I'd welcome any suggestions that could help my situation. Failing that I may need to invest in a pack of Tena-lady!!

Swollen Ankles
Hi everyone. I'm 69 & I have been suffering with swollen ankles lately and wondered if anyone could advise me. I've upped my water intake & am trying to move more. I have normal sized ankles when I get up in the morning but after a few hours, they're like tree trunks and it's really getting me down Rolling Eyes

Half a pound is better than nothing!
So only half a pound off this week but its better than none or going in the other direction! Didn't manage my usual 3 pints of water yesterday so trying a bit harder today. Busy day today as we are going away to the Lake District tomorrow for a week. I do hope I don't get carried away with naughty food & too much alcohol as I've had downward results with my weight for 2 weeks now. Don't think I'll weigh as soon as I get back though, I'll weigh in 2 weeks & see if I can at least maintain over that period.

60+ New to Fatsecret
Lost a pound the first week but I really struggled at the weekend & ate all the wrong food! I go for a blood test today to test for diabetes as it's in the family & I know I'm obese & need to be careful.
I go away to a hotel in the Lake District on Saturday for a week & we'll be eating in the hotel restaurant every evening so I don't hold out much hope of losing although I do plan to walk more, weather permitting!
