Retired Housewife with 3 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren. I origially had gained 20 pounds over the last few years. I have been trying to loose on my own over the last year, verrrry difficult. Have tried various methods with no or little success but eventually it took a year to loose 10 pounds.

Not too happy at that amount and length of time. I started to investigate Atkins way of life and am very excited and thrilled to see the weight come off so soon. I started Atkins from the book approx. 6 days before I became a member and lost 3 pounds a few days of which no changes were noted.


I can't tell you what a relief it is to know that I was probably sabotaging myself with the low fat products now on the market and other items high in carbs.

I have learned so much in the last week and am so happy. Soon I will be able to get back into my clothes which have been sitting in the closet for so long. I also feel great.

I too have Sumba 2 on the Wii I don't do the whole session at once I break it down to 20 minutes 3 times Day. Try this you will get the same effect as staying with the whole program all at once. Good Luck

Thank you Jeazette for your best wishes, I hope to overcome the extra weight. I removed my original post, because I didn't know that it was going to be posted the way it was. Had a banner type heading seemed a little inappropriate. I thought it would be more inline with a simple journal entry. So I left the info just in my journal. Regards

Hi Moesmon and Macushlah

You are not alone there are quite a few of us on Fat Secret. Look under groups and you will find groups for those 50 and up and 60 + looking to loose. I did not have a large amount to loose but have almost reached my goal, with the terrific support and friendship on this site you will find you both will achieve your goals. All the best.

Goal Weight decision ?
I set my goal weight based on my BMI chart. 120 for 5'2" is the midline for my bone structure and height with 22 as my body fat level.
I am doing well with 4 lbs to go Smile Am in OWL at present adding 5 grams of carb per week. Have sliupped a few times making it more difficult to ba accurate regarding additions of carbs versus no loss for a few days. How many carbs would you say is an approximate to expect before no weight loss 40? Any suggestions ??
