There's not a lot to know about me. I've been a vegetarian for about six years now, I was a competing martial artist for four years and just recently was forced to stop training because of the time constraints of my schedule. I'm now trying to find ways to keep my fitness level where I would like it. I've taken my vegetarianism to a more strict level, I'm monitoring my water intake and finding other ways to get exercise. I've been doing yoga for a while now and I'm currently trying to pick up running. At some point I think I'll be giving Bikram Yoga a try. Nutrition is something I've done quite a bit of self research in, if anyone has questions about dietary needs I probably either know it or know where to find it.

weight gain during that time of the month
Oddly enough, I lose weight on the week of my period. About 2 lbs actually. It didn't used to be that way but as of about a year and a half ago I started losing weight when that time of the month rolled around. It stays off too.

Any ideas why this might happen?

Question about water
The downside is that anything containing artificial sweeteners has negative health side affects. It pumps your body full of chemicals which your liver has to clean out instead of burning fat the way you want it to. Along with decreased weight loss it can increase your risk of contracting a large number of diseases, including cancer.

Can't stop the night-time snacking!
Try drinking a glass of cold water anytime you get the munchies. It'll fill you up and the cold will shrink your stomach slightly. The added benefit is that water helps you lose weight, stay hydrated and you'll burn more.

What do you eat for breakfast?
I eat fruit in the mornings most of the time. Maybe with cereal or toast. I stick to something light to get my metabolism going in the mornings.

Can't get the number on the scale to go down!
Try eating at least every two hours. A small snack in between meals will keep your metabolism at high intensity all day. Have a handful of almonds, some cheese and crackers, just something small.
