Well, my shipment of moving boxes arrived this afternoon, in three quite large packages. I slid the larger of the two "narrow" boxes to the stairwell, to guide it down the stairs to my soon-to-be-former apartment. Unfortunately, the constructioneers refuse to clean up the plaster dust they track all over the building, which basically acts like dry lubricant on the stair treads. The mass of the large box pushed me careering down the stairs at too great a speed to get my hands in front of my head in time. My forehead hit the window wall at the landing (plaster-covered 1902-era cinder blocks) and, as it ricocheted back, the palm of one hand and the wrist of the other smacked into the wall. My one foot -- I never did get the second one under me, this happened so fast -- was bearing all my weight as I slid on each stair, so it was numb for the next ten minutes, time enough to get the packages all downstairs and into my unit. By then, my friend (the current Assistant Manager) was home from her day job, so I texted her to ask for a mop. I was determined to keep anyone else from breaking a land speed record sliding down those stairs! By the time I wiped and dried them, the numbness went away from my heel joint. Crazy painful! I don't know when I'll be able to walk on it again -- tomorrow? Thursday? Friday? -- but I keep putting ice packs under it (I have collected a half-dozen of them over the years). The morning will reveal a lot about any pain. I still can't remember if I landed on my feet, or my lap, or my keister(sp).

Yes, I probably will call the Chiropractrix about it, since it kinda looks like I won't be called about a job interview this week.

Meanwhile, I'm binge-watching movies.
