I've been overweight my entire life.

I'm tired of being overweight.

I want to lose weight, but I'm afraid to tell people that the high self-confidence I show is only a show.

My starting BMI is 44.8. I hate to say that. I want to change that. My first goal weight is to get my BMI under 40. Starting small. Overall, I'd like to lose more than 100 lbs.

Starting weight: 286.4 lbs
1st Goal: 257.76 lbs(lost 10%): September 29, 2011 (2 months, 16 days)
2nd Goal: 255 lbs (BMI under 40): October 9, 2011 (2 months, 26 days)
3rd Goal: 229.12 lbs (lost 20%):
4th Goal: 223 lbs (BMI under 35):
5th Goal: 200.48 lbs (lost 30%):

8th Goal: 159 lbs (BMI under 25):

Stopped working out!
Just start today. I am having the same problem. I work full time during the day and go to school full time at night, and about a month ago, life just got too hectic and exhausting to find the time to work out or care about tracking my calories, so I quit. But with finals happening now, we can look to the future and just start again. I say treat each day as an opportunity to make good decisions, so tomorrow we can make the choices to eat better and work out. Remember whatever motivated you in August and try to find that enthusiasm today (or at least that is what I have done).

I don't know if that will help any, but if it does, then that is great. Good luck!

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
I want to be able to ride roller coaster rides. The last time I tried to ride one, I had a very hard time putting on the harnesses. It was so extremely embarrassing, I almost started crying. That was 2 years and 20 pounds ago. I've come up with a million and a half excuses since then not to go to amusement parks (when normally I am the one pushing for everyone to go).

My shoe size has started going up. I believe this may be weight related.

I get sad when I look at my wedding pictures. I don't feel like I look like a beautiful bride.

My niece saw a picture of me from about 5 years ago... she said that I looked beautiful when I was thin. This was the first time that anyone besides my husband had said I looked beautiful since about that long ago.

I want to be the sort of woman that my husband would be proud to show off (clarification: He has never seemed embarrassed by me. In fact, he tells me every day that he loves me exactly as I am. I just want to be the sort of size that someone would be interested in showing off.)

I want to feel healthy.

I don't want my nieces to learn my unhealthy habits.

I want to already be living a healthy life with healthy habits when I have children of my own so they'll never have the opportunity to learn my unhealthy habits.

I want to have easier pregnancies.

I want to see my collar bone.

I don't want my stomach to have those weird wrinkles from my clothes all the time.

I don't want to get diabetes or heart disease or any of the other issues that come with being obese.

I don't want to be embarrassed when I eat (I try to eat alone as much as possible. It takes me a very long time to be comfortable enough to eat in front of someone.).

I don't want to be embarrassed when I work out.

There are so many things that I want different in my life. I am ready for this!!
