Lost so far: 8.4 lb

Current Weight
156.6 lb
Performance: gaining 0.6 lb a week

Goal Weight
125.0 lb
Still to go: 31.6 lb
I am currently a 24 year-old Pharmacy student (graduated with a BA first) who is struggling to lose some pounds. I hate exercise and counting my calories, but my potential profession has beaten into me the dangers of being overweight.

I'm not a type that cares about how "skinny" I look. I mean, it's nice, but I didn't want it badly enough to freak out and micromanage my food intake. BUT since starting college, let myself make some very bad food choices. When my BMI hit 29.8, I was shocked. I knew that a BMI 30+ increased my chance of diabetes and other expensive problems. It is time to make a change and I am hoping that fatsecret will help lead me there.

Goal? Losing 40 pounds.
Goal weight? 125 pounds.
Target BMI? 21.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I check my weight almost every day. I know there can be huge differences between one day and another, but it helps me keep motivated. The ups don't bum me out too much since I know it's impossible to gain (or lose!) 1-2 lbs in a day for me. It's more of a way for me to see my weekly trend.

If I gain a lot, I assume I ate too many salty or fatty things that helped me retain water a day or two before. This way I can keep track of my salt intake. I can also see if doing different things puts my body way out of whack or if it seems to be helping/hurting. If my weight fluctuates too much (like the past 2 weeks) from ridiculous diets that my friends bring up that I'm willing to try, I can catch that it's not helping me quite fast. Smile

Bar codes
Hey, I'm not sure if there was a specific answer for the barcode scanner thing. I love the scanner on my android, but if it comes up wrong (which it can do sometimes) there is a "Barcode Match" section in the nutrition info that says: This barcode has been matched to [FOOD NAME]. Not Correct? Find Better Match.

Just click find a better match. Then you can search for the correct one and it will solve the problem (unless a different user switches it to something else)

stuck at my weight
How are you stuck? And how long have you been stuck? Are you talking about stuck on the scale? Or just stuck in general? Stuck on what to eat? Stuck on what to do? Smile

Why The Scales Lie
Although I've read something like this before. Its nice to have all the information in one place and easy to read. It reassures me I really am heading toward my goal. Thanks!
