HI all!
I am an almost 35 year old mother of two boys and I have a wonderful husband. I have struggled with my weight for a long time. Even when I was "skinny" I didn't appreciate it. I am hoping to get my stuff together this time and finally take care of me!

Dr Pepper addict...
Are you drinking diet Dr Pepper or regular? If it is diet, I think you could allow yourself one can a day. This should not be torture for you. If you really want to be off caffine you need to make sure you drink lots of water. Dehydration can cause a headache too and that sucks! The headache will go away in a few days, at least mine did. Now I still have a diet soda, just one a day.

"Saving" part of a smoothie for later
I have not tried it, but maybe you could freeze it and then blend it again when you are ready to drink it. Otherwise you could stuck with halfing your receipe. During the summer, frozen could be pretty refreshing!

any one else doing the "abs diet for women"?
Hey Juniper Smile
I totally understant. By the way not only have I not lost the baby weight from my 8 year old but I weigh more now that I did when I had him. It is so easy to eat while on auto pilot. I find I have to really be aware of what I am eating, how much I am eating and I will often stop myself from eating more. If I tell myself that I can have more in 10 min. if I really need it, often Ithe desire for the food will pass. The other thing I do is ask myself "Will I live if I don't eat this?" Of course the answer is yes. Being aware of our choices is such an important part to this whole weight loss thing!
Good luck to you! Wink

Hi Juniper,
You can write down your portions if that will help. I have found that if I am writing down what I eat I will think twice about what I am eating. I would also suggest you start slow. Don't expect to change everything all at once. That can be overwhelming and make you feel defeated before you even start.
My other suggestion is to take time to look at labels at the store. I have found that not all foods are created the same way. For example, Raisin Bran....Post is the way to go if you want to eat this because it does not have high fructose corn syrup where Kellogs does. the best thing you can do is making yourself as aware of what you are eating as possible.

Is the food expensive?
Do you have the ABS diet or the ABS diet for women? I have both and founf some great receipes in the book for women. My kids love the chilli con turkey, we just don't eat the rice. The min expnse I found was the protein powder for smoothies, the flaxseed and good almonds. I like them raw best!! Smile
