Im a 56 year old married female, my work is office so I sit a lot. I have watched myself steadily add a few pounds per year , I have decided I want to reverse that. I started out on the military diet for three days and after that I went off on my own. Making decisions based on foods that I know are healthy, plants, lean meats, drinking water instead of sodas, keeping all processed foods to a minimum. I have started my own exercise program. I keep a daily food and exercise journal. I do weigh every single day , some people say not to do this but it does keep me on track. I am happy to have found this site and I wish each and every one of us great weight loss success! Peace....

Belly fat over 50
Give up sugar. even the fake sugar. Eat Grapefruit to burn fat, drink green tea to burn fat. Im a firm believer in old fashioned sit ups for flattening the tummy. A weighted hula hoop is great for shaping your waist.

Noob seeks advice on supplements
I kind of went to the same place this past year, i found a diet that worked for me to keep me full and satisfied which includes oatmeal, LOTS of salad with romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, etc, (greens) lots of fruit and vegetables, really try to stay away from all processed foods and I only drink water, green tea or coffee. Most meat i eat is either fish, breast meat chicken or lean type ground beef or ground turkey. I try to think in terms of if I were alive 100 years ago what would I be eating before all the conveniences of fast foods and processed junk in a box or a can . The way I eat consists of a LOT of preparation on my part but at the end of the day I know I have nourished my body well and over the last year 50 lbs have left. Smile But to say all that, I too worry some about certain vitamins or things I may be missing . So I do try to take a multivitiman and a little extra calcium just because of my age. Some vitamin deficiencies can certainly cause problems - I dont have the complete answer to that myself yet. Best wishes in your continued good eating.

Waring Blender Brain!
I agree with Erika about eating fat...eat a half an advacado on one piece of wheat toast sprinkled with chia seeds...learn to love advacado. It will fill that hole in you that is telling you to eat and you will stay full for hours! Just learn to love advacado. So you are still making the motion of eating something but its a good something and will stop the hunger.
