I am a returning student who is in her forties and after finishing a few prerequisites I am applying to a full time Radiology Program that begins this Fall 2014. Being around so many young people can make a girl feel old, so I want to lose weight just to feel my best and I need the energy. I've been using food as a comfort tool, so I need to reverse that track fast! Not to mention I'll be a bridesmaid this Fall too, so the goal of looking my best is even bigger. Mentally I'm ready! I will not let food control me. I control me.

UPDATE: At the age of 42 I just applied to a Radiology Technology Program. I am on the Dean's list and have a 3.8 gpa for the required prerequisite classes! Better late than never :)

LATEST UPDATE: In May 2015 I'll have completed my first year in the Radiology Tech Program. Ill be working full time in the clinical setting this summer. Here's to setting big goals!

Yes, going to the gym often shows a weight gain bc youre building muscle...but more muscle helps burn more calories too. I bet you're losing inches though. Have you tried measuring yourself, then remeasure in a couple weeks?

Sloooooowwwww weight loss!
I never had a problem with my weight until my late thirties, but now that I'm in my forties, I can barely get it off! But as one person said, you didn't gain it in a day either. I'm so happy I lost 4.5 lbs in a month, and although I get jealous of the people who drop weight so fast, I'm just thankful that I've turned from gaining to losing. We are all working very hard and we all are starting at different weights, ages, I try to remember that results will be different. Also, last time I tried this Low Carb way of life I didn't lose any pounds, but I could fit into pants that I had "grown out of". Now that I'm actually tracking my carbs etc... I'm doing much better. I can't even believe where those sneaky carbs are! DON'T GIVE UP! It'll happen Smile
