Emotional Control
It quite appropriate that I am replying to this post after I had a mini-vacation and did not do well on this diet. I am an emotional eater, though I have never consciously admitted this to myself until now. I thought it had a negative connotation, as in, "I can't control what I eat when I feel different emotions," and I realize now that I do this! Constantly! Food was a reward for a hard day's work, or the excitement when I go to a new place and can't wait to "try new food!" as opposed to going for a hike/walk/see museums etc.

So....what do I do to curb the emotional eating and pamper myself in other ways???

1. Have a goal and buy myself a nice treat when I reach this goal...it could be as simple as a magazine, bubble bath and a new face scrub!
2. I say, "I can eat that...but first have a drink of water or do something else" 90% of the time when I focus my brainpower on something else, my cravings etc go away.
3. I am still learning how to stop emotionally eating! My goodness this is a work in process and I have to realize that and be kind to myself!

Is there anything else sweet to eat besides Jello in Phase 1????
I tried the Mocha ricotta creme that is actually in the South Beach book. I have posted it in the receipes section on here...feel free to use it! Absolutely delicious!
