Amen Cokezero1982! It's sooo sad that those that don't know their facts are the first one's to tell everyone Atkins is not a healthy lifestyle! Sooooo sad.

Is Atkins healthy?
Well..that's a interesting remark Eeyore_this..! I've been an Atkineer since Feb. 23,2009 and have lost 111 lbs. so far.I was also a type 2 diabetic when I started. Notice,I said WAS. Thanks to the Atkins healthy way of eating..I am now FREE OF DIABETES! And..my bad cholesterol has gone down..not up..but then my good cholesterol certainly has gone up! I went to my Dr. just yesterday and had the usual battery of blood work done,and my Dr. was so tickled with ALL of my labs,he just couldn't stop telling me how amazed he was with them all! It's called using common sense when you eat anything. Atkins has NEVER said to go and eat a lb. of bacon everyday and eat gobs of cheese and other loads of fatty meats in excess.I thank the Lord I found Atkins everyday! Before, I was sick all the time and and zero energy...now I'm never sick and have waaayyy too much energy..LOL! I've noticed those that are lacking in any intelligent and factual information are the one's that are ragging on Atkins. So sad. When I began Atkins..I weighed around 250 lbs. Now..139 lbs. with 9 more to go to my goal of 130 lbs. I'm in phase 3 now(pre-main.) I'm eating much healthier now than I did before starting Atkins..lean meats and poultry,baked,boiled or broiled seafood,lots of fresh veggies and some fruits and yes even whole wheat pasta and other whole grains. So..I want to know..just who would say that is a unhealthy way of eating? Somebody that obviously has no idea what they are talking about and should not be on the Atkins forum with misinformation.

Celebrating with Kat!!!! No more diabetes meds!!!!
Thank you all so much for the encouragement and positive feedback! At this point I now have 10 lbs. more to lose and am in pre-main. and am in a size 8 pants..WHOOHOO! They are snug,but comfy just the same.. LOL! I am so thankful that I have not got to take those diabetes meds anymore! I feel so much better now than before..it's just amazing! I don't even feel or look like the same person!

Celebrating with Kat!!!! No more diabetes meds!!!!
I'm still doing my happy dance! I got into some jeans that I've had for years,buttoned and zipped up! I hoped that one day I'd be able to get them back on and just couldn't part with them.. I'm so glad I held on to them! At my heaviest, I had worn a size 24 (with elastic in the waist) and these jeans were a size 10 (no elastic in sight)! I am just sooo happy..I may not be able to sleep tonight! LOL! ☺

ATKINS VS OTHER DIETS
I compleatly agree with Mountain Mama's post! And..cutting out junk food and getting more veggies is most certainly Atkins-specific! BTW..what diet are you on?
