- Protein - shakes, powders, bars, meats.
- Protein drinks/bars - look for 20g or more protein, 3g or less sugar, 300 or less calories
- Veggies - yes
- Fruit - not too often - yes, it's a natural sugar, but it's sugar.
- No (purposeful) carbs
- No (purposeful) sugars
- ONLY water (exceptions: protein drinks/V8)
- Don't be afraid of the protein isle. (I always thought it was for jocks)
- Try to find a store with individual servings of protein bars and/or drinks and buy as many single servings of each that you can and give them all a try. Some will be terrible, but some WILL surprise you.
- Protein bars ARE NOT CANDY BARS. Some look like candy bars, and are pretty darn close, but don't go into expecting you're eating a candy bar.
- Protein powders are cheaper than the pre-mixed drinks, but they need trial and error. Find a pre-mixed drink you like, then buy the cheaper powder. I will then try the powder first with water as a base trial and then either add cashew milk, almond milk, or cow milk as need... cashew milk tends to be my favorite.

Side note: I weigh in weekly. I weigh in every Monday before I get in the shower. It's tough staying away from the scale throughout the week. But, I do it because, I know my week will fluctuate from day to day and I don't want to see the gain(s). If I weigh in once a week, I (should) only see the losses, which helps with the mental struggle.

Finally, I have learned to just throw it away! If you find yourself with a bite of candy bar in your mouth with the rest still in your hand... THROW IT AWAY! Don't be afraid to say, "Yes, I took a bite... but NO, I don't want THIS!" and toss it in the nearest trash can. We all slip, it's a matter of how we recover that makes the difference.

Fat Secret app scanner is hard to use
Looks like I may have just been holding items too close(?). When I hold the items out farther, my camera focuses quicker and grabs the item quicker.

Fat Secret app scanner is hard to use
S7 Edge. It's all about the lighting. Sometimes it will click right away, but many times I have to twist/turn to get the lighting just right for the scanner to capture the code. I use a scanner on my lottery app and it clicks right away every time.

How can I edit nutritional information for an item in FS already?
Good call. For me that day, I just used a similar product. But, it's probably better to re-create a correct item for future users. Everything was off. It had half the protein, twice the carbs and somewhere around 9 times the sugar.

Fat Secret app scanner is hard to use
I've tried cleaning my camera and everything else I can think of, but it takes me 30 - 60 seconds to find the exact perfect lighting for my FS scanner to focus in and actually read bar-codes for some reason.

Came across a second item where the nutritional data was all wrong today. It was a Slim Fast Advanced Nutrition shake. All stats were wrong for this item. It was using stats from the regular shake, not the Advanced Nutrition Shake.
