47 y/o male converting my fat to muscle. I'm combining cardio, weightlifting and healthy eating habits. So far I have dropped 3 pant sizes and gone from XXXL to XL shirts.

I'm a retired Kentucky Paramedic supervisor now working in Safety. I spend an hour everyday walking at 3-3.5mph. I work a muscle group each day in the gym. I'm not a weightlifting pro I started with 5 lb dumbells and have worked my way up from there.

Breakfast Ideas
I put 3 egg whites in the microwave along with instant grits in seperate bowls. Once cooked combine in 1 bowl and sprinkle on some low sodium butter flakes. Takes < 3 minutes from prep to plated. Loaded with protein and complex carbs to keep you feeling full and energized.

How much Protein in a day
My nutritionist and personal trainer recommended 1g protein per pound of lean body mass. I weigh 250 lbs and my calculated lean body mass is 178 lbs.

I walk an hour a day and weightlift working only 1 muscle group per day. I try to keep my protein intake around 200g day. I don't stress if it's more or less each day. I've dropped several pant and shirt sizes while gaining muscle mass. I look and feel so much better now.

Good luck!

Women and too much protein??
Nimm is correct. If you intake to much protein it is extra calories. I use O.N. 100% Whey Protein daily without problems. My personal trainer recommended my protein intake in grams = my lean body mass, which is 180lbs. I take in just under 200gm of protein daily with tuna, chicken and whole grain brown rice and a shake when I get up and before bedtime.

My weight bounces around 250-255lbs because of weightlifting. I've converted a lot of fat to muscle dropping 3 pant sizes and 2 shirt sizes.

Need some motivation
I use the disappearing double chin to motivate me. The fat around my upper arms is slimming and letting my biceps show. That's motivational too!

Notice the subtle differences in your body weekly and keep up the good work!
