I'm a 41 year old man living and loving life in Alaska. I was skinny pretty much all of my life and my parents made sure I always had healthy meals growing up. When I joined the Army after high school I was 6'2" and weighed 175 lbs. I spent over 9 years in the Army and was in really good shape even though I had developed some really bad eating habits once I was on my own as an adult. I spent most of my time in the Army around 190 to 195 lb but when I left the Army at 28 years old I weighed 205 lbs.

I continued with the unhealthy diet after I got out and stopped exercising altogether. I kept gaining weight (thankfully only an average of 5 lbs per year) until I reached about 272 lbs. I started having back and knee injuries and even climbing a flight of stairs could be difficult.

I made the decision in December of 2019 to get healthy again. I started on a diet and exercise program and have been sticking to it pretty strictly. My initial goal weight is 205 lbs but my long term goal is to get back to 190 lbs but with more muscle and less fat.
