Wanting to know.
That seriously depends on who you ask, your goals and preferences. People who believe in very low carb as superior will suggest as low as 5% carbs; the CSIRO low carb approach is more liberal with around 10 to 14% carbs...then you have people who prefer higher carbs and lower fats. Some will tell you calories in and out rules, while others will tell you that the type of calories matter more since, for example while fat has more calories it takes longer to burn than carbs per gram. So, your simple question is not so simple. Then, your own body has different needs too; so, if you are pre or diabetic, a low carb option will usually be much better for you. If you pound weights and want to bulk up, you'll probably need higher protein. In my opinion, you should pick what works best for you that doesn't restrict your required nutrients. If you get adequate vitamins and minerals you won't crave extra calories the same way. Whole foods, carbs coming from non-refined sources such as veggies, adequate protein and some healthy fats such as avocado, olive oil etc...are more important than which macro balance you choose.
