Hello FS friends,
I'm a 38 year old wife and mom of 4. I have 2 teenagers, 2 elementary age kids and a husband who's a first responder. After being a stay at home mom for 13 years I started back to work as a communication specialist 3 years ago. Last Fall I realized I would have to quit my job and once again stay home with my kiddos due to Covid. Like so many, that was a hard blow to our lifestyle. Anxiety, depression and apathy hit me hard. My kids and husband were amazing and kept me going, but even though I was smiling, I really struggled. I resorted to stress eating, sleeping and barely doing any activities throughout the day unless I was helping my kids or cleaning the house. I gained a lot of weight and was bigger than I've ever been. Finally enough was a enough and I needed to do something.
So I joined FS. I love this group because It's like my own private support group. I appreciate when others are honest with their struggles and I'm encouraged to see what works for people and what doesn't. It's been a bit of a roller coaster to find a balance between counting calories, working out, consistency, and not getting down on myself if I don't see immediate results. FS is helping me with this part. The progress has been slow, but I've never focused on physical fitness like I am right now. I know muscle mass is playing a part in helping get healthy again.
So much of this is remembering to stay positive and focus on gratitude and appreciation. Thank you again for sharing with me and I hope I can share with and encourage you as we continue our healthy lifestyle journeys!
