I'm a 37 year old male looking to get back to a weight of 200. I have a desk job, so I need to start taking my diet and exercise plan seriously. I like low carb/high protein "diets" like south beach, but to me nothing works better than counting calories. 1,500 calories a day seems to be the sweet spot and I can still cheat a day or two per week. For me, calorie counting takes all the nonsense out of losing weight. Eat in a way that works for you, when it works for you, and the rest is just math.
