I'm 29. I have two kids - a girl and a boy. I'll be 30 in May. I wanna get extremely close to my goal weight by my b-day...new decade, new lifestyle. I have tried many times to change my eating habits. I either get bored, or don't have the funds to stock my fridge up with everything healthy and nothing processed. It's a shame that it is so much cheaper to eat trifling - fats, sugar, processed, chemical filled food. My theory? So glad you asked. It's not really a theory, it's common knowledge. If we all eat the way God intended, then who would get sick to make sure the drug companies and insurance companies turn a profit? Right. So with this site and the options for meals, hopefully I'll do better and stick with it. My ultimate goal, besides the weight loss, besides the improved health is to be a MILF...lol. I would love to be out with my son (who's only 5 now) and some guy is looking at me wondering if I'm his sister or his girlfriend because I just look so good. Then my son is like "Stop lookin at my mother like that", and people are thinking "OMG...that's his mom?" Yup, that's my motivation.

Try new things
I posted a new group challenging people to try new things. This is for everyone, but especially newbies like me. Only because many of you vets have already adopted new eating habits and are making progress. And one of the reasons I have found it hard to change my eating is because it is inconvenient, and sometimes uncomfortable (will it be gross, will I make it right, will it make me sick, will it take too long, etc), and maybe a little expensive to try new things. But variety is important in keeping one from getting bored and going back to the familiar. I invite anyone who is interested. Even those who through this site tried something they never did and would like to tell us about the experience. It might motivate someone.

Trying Again
Yes, good luck! And kudos on gaining the strength to overcome and recognize that you are still important enough to take care of. I love it here!

Kitchen Necessaties (did I spell that right?...who cares!)
OK, so I got great feedback with my last post about substitutions. If you have more advice on that topic, please give it up...lol. Now I'm wondering what are your must have's in the kitchen? Appliances, spices, etc. I see alot of recipes with flaxseed (btw, never tried it n I'm leary cuz I don't like seeds), some people say they can't live without their bullet (the kitchen bullet...not the OTHER bullet), a scale for I guess portion control and accurate nutrition calculation. What things do you keep in the kitchen to make cooking healthy easy and convenient?
