Happily married for 37 yrs, I'm 62 now, with two grown sons, and 1 granddaughter 5 yrs old.

I was a college athlete - baseball pitcher, and I try to stay fairly active - golf as well as having trained for and running 10 LA Marathons, my last one in 2002. I'm in relatively good health and haven't been, nor am I, on any medication for any conditions or diseases - and my goal is to stay that way!

As a result of work and not paying attention to what, or how much I was eating, I suddenly found myself at 252 pounds at the end of 2017. My New Years resolution was to lose 52 pounds in 2018...I started the year well, but plateaued and was only down 12 pounds as I entered September, then I found a book that helped take my New Year's resolution to another level. The book was "Become Ageless" by Strauss Zelnich.

In the book, Zelnick suggested tracking what you eat each meal and mentioned the Fat Secret site. I finished reading the book on September 25th and joined the site the next day with a weight of 240. I've known the importance of tracking food intake; however, it was too much trouble to figure out the potion size of food, the calories, etc so I never did it...besides, until recent years, I never thought I really needed to. This site was perfect for what I needed.

Even though I didn't meet my goal of losing 52 pounds (only 42 - not bad of course), I did finish 2018 weighing 210 and have lost weight (even if only 1/2 sometimes) in all 19 weeks I've been on this site. I know its just a matter of a few more weeks for me to reach the full 52 and be at my goal weight of 200, so I can maintain my ongoing goal of being prescription medication-free!

How to record new weigh in weight?
Hi everyone, I am new on here having just started this past week. I just weighed myself this morning and I want to put that new weight into FatSecret and I see where to put the number; however, it is not saving and registering the new weight on My FatSecret. I would appreciate the help. Thank you
