I am a 67 year old women married to my soulmate since 1984. For those of you who don't know, I have a condition called Stiff-person syndrome (SPS). It is a rare neurological disorder with features of an autoimmune disease. SPS is characterized by fluctuating muscle rigidity in the trunk and limbs and a heightened sensitivity to stimuli such as noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms. I also use a walker for stability and mobility. It is a progressive syndrome, that started in my late 50s. It is not something I whine about because that certainly doesn't do a bit of good.
I am here to continue and maintain a healthy lifestyle, while keeping the majority of my life private. Although, that's a pretty big share.
"What lies behind us, and what lies before us are but tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
