TLDR: A brutal hard look at myself and my weight issues. At the end is a list of my strategies for weightloss.

I'm pushing 50, 100kg and a bit miserable with the way I've let myself go. A year ago my Dr recommended Michael Mosely’s approach. I've bought all the books, and tried/failed a few times to launch it. So in the last few months I looked at the problems individually and what I can do about them. Now I'm ready to go for it – watch this space **crosses fingers**

Things that have affected my weight:
- getting a car
- quitting smoking
- having 2 babies within 18 months
- Two major surgeries and a few minor ones
- significant back and foot pain
- depression (now doing well on medication)
- Eating my feelings – food and alcohol
- Poor self esteem
- Loving but non- understanding partner (he’s very fit and healthy and doesn’t why its so hard for me).
- Hunger & food cravings
- Meal planning - not having ingredients and a meal plan
- Shift work – fatigue, and derails meal prep.

What I am doing about it:
- Menu planning - I've built up a recipe book of meals I like that are easy to shop for, fridge/freezer friendly and LCHP
- managing hunger - from trial and error I know LCHP will help with this, I just have to get over the keto flu
- alcohol - drank consciously, alcohol is a false friend who makes me feel better but sabotages me behind my back.
- self esteem - trying to be gentle with myself, awareness that I had body issues all my life, even when I was slim.
- communication with partner - that was hard. I guess I've been gradually pushing my POV while calling him out for being judgemental. We have had words lol
- getting past keto flu - I've taken sick leave until I'm a few days in
- pain management - seeing a physio, doing gentle stretches, changing work conditions so its not so physically demanding
- Motivation - is growing since I have worked on my hurdles
