I am carrying around too much weight and it makes it hard to find clothes in my closet that fit me, and what I do have is uncomfortable to wear. I don't want to go out and buy pants with a waist size of 44. Screw that. I'm a firefighter and I need to shed some fat so that I can work better too.

UPDATE - 04 JUNE 2009 : I'm feeling good about my progress so far. I go into the closet and some clothes are too big for me now. I also feel like it is easier for me to perform my job now - I have much more energy to work with than I did when I first started to diet. Overall I am still uncomfortable, and have a long way to go. Another 15 difficult pounds before I reach my goal - at which point I will still be 10 pounds over what is considered my ideal weight.

My wife and I got the whole set, watched 1 DVD and decided 'this is good, we can do this', but then we never got back to it. I'm hoping that someday soon we will give it a go. Bouncing around in front of the TV has just never been my thing though.
