I am the 51 year old mother of two kids. A boy, 11 and a girl 10. I live in SW Fl. with my husband, the kids and our dog. I stopped working when my son was born and we relocated from Miami to the west coast so that I could stay home full time. All in all, I have a really good lifd.
Most of my life, like most girls, I thought I was fat or heavy. I grew up in the military and we moved around quite a bit. Mostly going back and forth from Germany to Homestead, Fl. While living in Fl I spent alot of time at the Base Pool where every extra pound showed. When I hit 208 about 2 or 3 years ago I realized I'd spent alot of time being concerned that I was overweight when I wasn't. Sometime during the '80's I saw "The Crying Game" and realized that fashon, the media, whoever had been telling girls for a long time now that the ideal body was really that of a tall, thin, young man. No curves, no breasts, no fat. If you've every seen teen boys playing basketball or skateboarding on a hot day, you'll see what I mean. I now realize that even if I weighed only 100 lbs (not a good weight 'cause I'm 5'5) I still wouldn't look that way because I do have curves, and breasts. I'm more interested in getting fit and in good shape than being thin.
I have alot of valuable resources: supportive husband, swimming pool out back, stationary bike, kids who want to play, so I am totally without excuse for not burning the fat and getting fit.
I'm down to 168 and feeling much better.
