Had a great weekend with two of my grandkids. Brooke 2yrs (who I almost always have) and her big brother Blake 12yrs. We cooked, snuggled and played!
Blake always asks me to make spaghetti Saturday night and this weekend was no exception. Spaghetti is my kryptonite. My weakness. 😔 but other than tasting the sauce for seasoning adjustments...I didn’t cave! I made myself a Keto taco pie I had been wanting to try and ate that instead. Weigh in this morning went well even with having McDonald’s fries this weekend.
My biggest issue lately seems to be eating while I’m cooking. Nibbling this and that. I need to plan better. I tend to wait until I’m super hungry to go prepare something and then it turns into a bite here and another and another....ugh. Making a chef salad...scarf some lunch meat while cutting up more, scarf a piece of cheese, some cherry tomatoes while dicing more for the salad, etc, etc. I’ve really gotta work on that. Brooke takes so much of my focus that I just don’t meal prep like I used to.
Heck, let’s face it..I don’t cook at all like I did even 10 years ago 😂. A full, balanced meal every night! Anymore it’s mostly “whatever” nights and I may make an actual meal 3 times a week or less. Brooke is super easy to feed, she’s a little foodie and loves to eat any and everything. I always make sure she has a wide variety. Hoping to skip right over the “picky” stage! 😜.
