Started from 320 pounds in 2015. I have lost over 160 pounds following the Paleo/Primal way of eating and I will never go back. Those "last 10 pounds" are stubborn though! I've been trying to lose them for over a year now, haha. I'm so glad to be here! 💕

Grape, definitely. Grapes are Paleo, after all... and if you've ever seen a bunch of yellow jackets bumbling around running into things after sucking on fermenting fruit off the vines, you know that alcohol occurs naturally as well. Alcohol made with grains would be a huge no. Potato is "meh" in my opinion. I know the white potatoes are not Paleo due to their being basically treated the same as bread by the body. But they are roots, not grains. Personally I don't freak out if a few bits of potato make it into the vegetable soup I order at a restaurant, for example. But that's just me.

Anyway... as much as you would drink grape juice, I would say wine from grapes would be okay. If you're really trying to lose weight, grape juice (or wine) would not be the best choice. But if you're maintaining or whatever... then sure, why not?

What are your opinions on artificial sweetners?
I do use them, even though my brain tells me they are bad for me. I also try to mostly eat Paleo, and my brain tells me artificial sweeteners are definitely NOT Paleo... sigh. 🤷‍♀️ But I just feel so bad about the calories/carbs in "real" sugar and even the calories/carbs in things like honey and maple syrup (which are more Paleo than cane sugar.) Heck I even feel bad about the calories and carbs in fruit! But I still like things to taste sweet and sometimes it makes a HUGE difference to just put a packet of Splenda in there. Idk, idk... I guess I look at them as the lesser of two evils; the one evil being that it's a chemical and not Paleo, and the other evil being empty calories and carbs. Ideally, I wouldn't have either one, though.
