I'm a 51 year old woman, I have three grown sons who live approx. 50 miles from me. I got married to my current husband in 1999 and at that time was 25 pounds lighter than I am now. It didn't help that shortly after that I started peri menopause and gotten out of a career that was very physical. I've been fighting my weight since my youngest son was born (he's 22). Right now I go to Curves for exercise and also a warm water indoor pool to help lesson the effects of fibromyalgia. I started a protein/lower carb diet at the beginning of December and am doing quite well on it. I seriously would like to lose at least 20 pounds before I turn, gulp, 52 in June.

I'll try this
OK, I've been in a diet slump for the past month or so, I was going to say couple of weeks but really it's been longer. I was doing so good on my eating then one day I used a birthday party as an excuse to eat "wrong" then it was a meeting at a buffet, then something else then it just got easier and before I knew it the scales crept up a few pounds and my jeans got tighter. I was doing the Curves diet but since today is a new day and a fresh start I decided to try the South Beach diet, which is very similar. I found a book at a used book store that has recipes and the food phases you follow in it. I'm not a fast loser, it takes me forever, in fact I came across the paperwork from when I joined Curves in 2005. I was 187 and now weigh 165, I'd like to get down to at least 145 or less. I read these other posts and people have lost that much in a matter of months, not years. Of course I wasn't dieting all that time but still. But I'm determined to do this, I'll turn 52 in June (how did that happen)Doubt and just found out I'm going to be a first time grandma in October. I don't want to be a "fat" grandma so that gives me extra incentive. I can do this!

my post picture
Is there a way to change the picture next to my posts from the one I was given when I joined, which is a cup of coca cola?

Where are the diets printed?
Is there a place on here where you can view and print out the diets? I am interested in the Curves carb sensitive diet and would like to make a copy of it.
