I’m a 42 year old professional who just happens to be married to the most wonderful woman on the planet! Together we’ve brought three awesome kids into this world; boy, girl, boy. My wife is someone who enjoys cooking all sorts of things for me which has been a blessing and a curse. Of course she never gains a pound (don’t you hate that?). Growing up I never struggled with my weight. It wasn’t until I got married that I started to plump up. In college I played lacrosse and was a solid 175 (<9% body fat). However, after we were married I ballooned up to a ripe 240 lbs. I think it had something to do with the birth of our first child, not caring how I looked and other factors.

Currently, I’m on Atkins and I’ve really turned the corner. I’m 182 with a goal weight of 170-172. Initially, my goal weight was 185 yet since adhering to the Atkins diet and watching the pounds fall off I’m thinking I’d like to get my old lacrosse body back again! I think I’ll be happy at 175 but let me get there first and then I’ll decide to go on pre-maintenance or not. I have to say I was on the Induction stage or stage 1 for 6-8 weeks and I’m still on OWL. I do have fluid shifts from time to time but it’s all good. I’m in this thing for the long hall.

Oh, my name… Chub-Chub?? My oldest son started calling me that. He said to me one day, “Dad, you have skinny legs, but your stomach is so fat. You’re skinny-fat”! It was immediately after that when he started calling me Chub-Chub. Looking back, it was my motivator! It changed my life! And now my cholesterol is down, B/P in a low normal and I feel great. Of course my clothes don’t fit any more and I need to buy new belts. Costly but great feeling!!
