My weight when I got married was 115 lbs. I use to be in shape and I ate very well. Having kids was not my problem, I lost all my baby weight when we had our first child. About 6 years ago I gained 15 lbs and wanted to lose the weight so I tried the Adkins diet for 6 weeks and that really caused me a lot of problems. I went to the Doctor and many issues get the picture. I have gained several lbs over the years. I have tried different diets with no weight loss. If anything they caused me to gain more weight. I wanted to do a detox back in 2007 but the Lord had other plans. We were pregnant again...WOOHOO for us!! I put the detox off until I was done with the pregnancy and nursing. I tried a juice detox after that and I hated it!! I was on it for 6 days and was STARVING the entire time so I quit. I did a little more research and decided to try a water detox. I did a 10 day water detox with great success!!! The water detox reset my system and helped put my hormones back in balance, which was one of my issues. I lost 7 lbs of fat in the process so I was pumped to lose more weight. My starting weight before the water detox was 204 lbs my highest weight ever, and a very depressing moment for me. After the detox my weight was 197 lbs. I knew the best way to lose the rest of the weight I needed to lose was to count my calories. I downloaded the calorie counter by fat secret and that was all she wrote. I have been counting my calories ever since and I lost 50 lbs just by doing that 1 simple thing. I've started exercising and that's made a big difference, I've lost 84lbs in 11 months. I'm doing Power 90X and at this point I would like to shed a little more body fat, and gain some muscle. I'm not going to worry so much about my weight right now as long as my body fat goes down and I lose the inches I need to lose off my waist and mid-section.

Best workout dvd?
I've tries several workout programs over the years, and the one I like best is hands down Power 90x by Tony Horton! I did the original P90 as well, and it works great if your in really bad shape, but if you can get through just some of the P90X videos then that one's your best investment. It will work you over, but you WILL get results!!

weight goes up and down
Yes WAY to many carbs! You need more protein...protein is what makes you feel full. Carbs is what gives you energy. When you consume more carbs than you can burn off in a days time, your body stores it for fat. To get your body to access your fat stores, you need to burn more carbs than your consuming in a days time. Try to eat 1g of protein for every lb you weigh, and between 50-150 carbs a day. Less than 50 carbs will cause your body to go into stravation mode, and if your trying to lose weight more than 150 carbs your body my not access your fat stores. Or you could eat a ratio of protein/carbs/fat 50/30/20 the high protien ratio will help jump start your metabolism and 30% carbs will help ensure you don't consume more than you need. This is a somewhat faster track. You could lose 10-15 lbs a month at your weight for the first couple of months doing this. Or you can do a ratio of 40/40/20 which will be a little slower, but for the first couple of months you could drop as much as 20lbs. I stuck to a 1200 calorie diet, but if thats not enough calories for you then 1500 is fine too. Just keep in mind as you lose weight you may want to lower your cals in 50-100cal blocks to keep the weight moving off. Try not to go below 1200 cals so your body don't go into stravation mode. If you start working out a lot like 1 hour plus a day then you need to make sure your eating enough to fuel your workout or your weight will stop moving as well. Hope this helps! Smile

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
I think I've been where a lot of you have been at one point or another in my fat years. I use to be really thin and in shape and the last 6 years or so have been really depressing. A big thing for me was I wanted to be able to jump horses and rope again without feeling like I might go over the side of the horse if I can't keep my body perfect in the saddle! I use to train, compete, and give lessons, but it makes a big difference in your riding ability if your 80+ lbs heavier than you use to be. Also who wants their kid to take lessons from someone who is so over weight that they are more worn out than the student is from a 1 hour lesson. When your that over weight you don't have the energy to perform in physical activities the way you need to. I'm almost to my goal, its been emotionally hard at times but well worth it! Everyone can do it, you just have to put your mind to it and NOT give up.

How late should you eat
Its not that you shouldn't eat after 6 pm per say. You should keep your calorie consumption under 100 a couple hours before bed time. If you go to bed at 10 then try not to eat anything heavy after say 7:30-8pm. When you sleep your body is recovering from all the stress and strain of the daily activities. Your body NEEDS this time to rest so it can be prepaired for the next day. If your body has to digest food all night then thats 33% more energy it has to use at night while your body should be at rest. Do you have to follow this guide of not eating a couple hours before but you will have a healthier digestive system, and your immune system will be stronger. You will feel better if you give your body the rest it needs during the night.
