Current Weight

Performance: losing 1.3 lb a week

Goal Weight
200.0 lb
Still to go: 51.4 lb
I've always had weight problems, and I want to fix it. I want to be healthier, I want to be able to see clothes and know I can fit in them. I'm ready to feel good about my body all the time.

My main focus is my senior year, I want to make it the best I can. An even further goal is my senior prom, Spring 2011. I've already found my dream dress, but need to lose a little weight to fit into the largest size. I'm hoping to lose enough weight by December, because I have to special order the dress. As far as inches go I'm 1" in the bust, 7" in the waist, and about 5" in the hips.

MEASUREMENTS
Goal: 44-35-47
July 12: 45-42-52
August 14: 44-40-50

OFFICIAL VOW TO SELF:
I will lose the weight I want to in order to be happy and healthy. I will find friends and motivators on this website and cling to them as I make my journey to be who I want to be. I will turn to them instead of food. I refuse to quit until what I see in the mirror makes me proud, and continue to stay that way when that happens.

Peace of Cake
Well, back in the day (depending on where you lived) being overweight was the sign of wealth, so buffets and weight gain were popular. Then as the times changed, a healthy weight was all due to proper portion sizes, and moderation was probably not much to fret about. Now of course, restaurants hand out four or five portions to one person, who, not knowing better, could mistake it as one. Not to mention our average dinnerware size has grown how much since the '60s or '70s?

Peace of Cake
This is what I found, enjoy. = >

Quote:
Referring to something as a "piece of cake" is often used to describe a situation that was easy, or required little effort. How did the term cake come to mean easy?
The idea of cake being “easy” originated in the 1870’s when cakes were given out as prizes for winning competitions. In particular, there was a tradition in the US slavery states where slaves would circle around a cake at a gathering. The most “graceful” pair would win the cake the in middle. From this the term “cake walk” and “piece of cake” came into being, both meaning that something was easy to accomplish.
The term was first used in print in 1936 by Ogden Nash who wrote, “Her picture’s in the papers now, and life’s a piece of cake.” Today the term is commonly used to describe tests at school, or friendly competitions.

Correctly calculating my RDI
An easy way to do that would be the way sherri suggested. I coincidentally use the biggest loser math.

If you want to calculate your RDI yourself. Here are the calculations that I've found.

BMR formula- What you burn daily...use with Harris Benedict Equation (below) for RDI...
http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/bmr-formula.php

Harris Benedict Equation- What you're suppose to eat daily to maintain your weight... Also simple explanations of activity levels...
http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/

There is a link to the calculations to add for weight loss on the HBE, but that's the simple stuff. subtract 500 calories a day for one pound a week or more, but don't reduce less than 1200 cal/day.

Hope this helps. Smile

What do you do for a living??
I'm a high school student, currently a senior, and an over-achieving Advanced Placement student. That means for 10 months, I work virtually non-stop 35+ hours a week. Last year was when I was finally able to take AP classes, and the workload of US History was extremely demanding. Not to mention I've been overweight since I could remember. The weights just gone up from then.
