I am 59 years old and it took me almost that long to work at being healthy, instead of trying every quick fix and fad diet that came along. I have two Collies, Brett and Tristan, a lilac Siamese Drucilla, and Sherman, a Birman cat. I've also inherited my daughters retired Morgan jumper to ride.
I work as an artist, selling on line. I specialize in oil paintings, but do sculptures, and trash to treasure items as well. My subjects of choice are dogs, horses and the big cats.
I've come to love using weights in my fitness program, and have been tapping into strength I never knew I had since joining a gym. Body Combat is now my cardio of choice, I also love Tabata and have been doing yoga, at least once a week for a good stretch.
Eating correctly is where my biggest problem lies, and it is a never ending struggle for me.

I am losing fat and gaining muscle, but its a slow process. Start using weights, have someone show you how to use them correctly.(This is important)I had a weigh and measure yesterday, and although the scale showed a 2 lbs gain, which happens, I am way down in inches. Go to the Before and After group, my back photos are there. It is self explanatory. You also need the correct diet, you can't starve yourself. BTW, I'm 59, it took me way to long to realize all this, but I'm in better shape now than when I was 30, no exaggeration! Good luck!

Don't be afraid
Thanks for the tip! My trainer wasn't present for that one, or she'd have told me about that. LOL Since I posted my last message, I did a 130 lb squat. Getting better!

I've been lifting heavier and love what its doing, although I still manage to get good cardio in a few times a week. Squatting 115 right now, no where near the 175 deadlift though. My back looks great, hoping the rest of me catches up! Even lost some of the loose skin on my back from a 50 lb weight loss. Never thought that would go away! Loving the weights!

daily workout
I know how you feel! I felt like that the first time I did Body Combat! Although its a little easier now, its a good heart pounding hour with tons of muscle definition to boot!
