I'm a transfer from SparkPeople. I'm sad that they closed, but very glad to find similar tracking services here. I've been working on my weight since 2014 when I topped out at 257 lbs. It has been a long haul, with a few bumps in the road. I reached my "Normal" BMI on Aug 3rd, 2021 at 151. I've decided to reach 140 and then work at maintenance. I KNOW tracking my food and exercise works for me. This last push is going v-e-r-r-r-y slowly. But my weight IS going down. I'm quite pleased about this because I'm 71 year old. I'm proving you CAN lose weight when you are over 65!
My exercise of choice is Jazzercize 5-6 days a week, plus walking. My favorite place to walk is on trails in Europe walking from inn to inn. In Mat, I completed 2 weeks of walking in Puglia, Italy as well as time in Rome and Matera. After that, I met my husband in the Netherlands for two more weeks of adventures.
My next walking goals are in the Cotswolds of England, and back to Italy to explore Campania. So between now and then, I hope to hike regularly in the American River Canyon in Central CA. That will get my quads back in shape, and strengthen my legs in general.
For me, all it takes is a healthy portion of determination and a commitment to a hiking trip! Ha!
