My name is Cassie and I am a single mom of an almost 11 month baby boy. The last year for me has been a roller coaster and I really need to focus on myself and getting healthy. I went from being "happily" married to getting a divorce in a year. My soon to be ex is not a part of my son's life or mine and it was a huge adjustment going from having help to no help at all.

My first goal was to quit smoking, which I have, but it helped me to so far gain 9 pounds of the 36 I had lost since separating from my husband. Soooo the next step is to stop the munching and lose weight! I'm ready to get into shape, but more importantly I'm ready to focus on myself (and my son of course!) instead of others.

I copied this from someone else, but thought it's a great idea to reward myself along the way:
Goal 1: Lose 10 pounds (250) - pedicure
Goal 2: Lose 20 pounds (240) - new shoes
Goal 3: Lose 30 pounds (230) - new jeans
Goal 4: Lose 40 pounds (220) - pedicure
Goal 5: Lose 50 pounds (210) - massage
Goal 6: Lose 60 pounds (200) - dye my hair!
Goal 7: Lose 70 pounds (190) - new shoes
Goal 8: Lose 75 pounds (185) - new jeans
Goal 9: Lose 80 pounds (180) - pedicure
Goal 10: Lose 85 pounds (175) - new shoes
Goal 11: Lose 90 pounds (170) - night out
Goal 12: Lose 95 pounds (165) - facial
Goal 13: Lose 100 pounds GOAL WEIGHT (160) - massage

HCG Diet
I agree with k8yk! 600 calories is way to few calories. You can still lose weight but you can do it in a healthy way. If you continue with 600 calories a day you might lose weight, but will be doing other harm to your body and you will have a higher risk of gaining it all back.

Pants size
For me, it takes about 20-30 pounds before I have to switch pant sizes. When you have a larger pant size the difference between the sizes is more pounds than if didn't have that much to lose. Its typical, but you probably have noticed that your pants fit better. Maybe they are less tight. Sometimes we lose weight in different areas as well instead of in our stomach. I always notice it first in my face and my arms (especially my wrists).

i saw a challenge
I believe I'm the person that started the challenge Lose 50 pounds in 3 months that you all are talking about. Is it going to be difficult to lose 50 pounds in 3 months, hecks yeah, but I am larger so unlike people who have less weight to lose it is a little more realistic for me. I just want a large goal to help me stay motivated. If I would have said 30 pounds in 3 months then if I hit that goal I may not stay as motivated. I think for me, having a large goal doesn't set me up for failure. If I don't meet the goal, oh well, but at least I tried. Who knows if I will actually lose that much, or anywhere near that much, but I am going to give it my all! I did Slim 4 Life about 4 or 5 years ago and I averaged anywhere between 4 to 5 lbs lost a week. So I think its attainable when you are severely obese as myself Smile By no means starting the challenge did I want anyone to do anything unhealthy. I'm just going to stick to the guidelines and hope for the best Smile

Is too much protein bad?
Hello, I'm 27 and weight 280 lbs. I do not exercise rigorously. I just bought some whey protein and thought of having one shake every day (contains 26 grams of protein). If I am not exercising will this make me gain weight having so much protein or will I be fine? Could I have two shakes? It helps me feel less hungry.
