I used to be an active, growing teenager, but then high school started and I simply stopped exercising (specifically ballet dancing) because I didn't have time. I was sad about stopping even before the effects set in. I began feeling fatigued every day and had frequent heart palpitations from the stress of my new schedule and less-than-optimal nutrition. I got used to it, but I gained over 20 lbs in a year and didn't feel energized or happy as I did when I was doing ballet and had a normal sleep and eating schedule. Now in college, I am hoping to go down to a healthier weight (less fat, more strength) by learning the ways of the gym, eating more consciously, and doing ballet again! <3
