I am a wife and mother to 4 very energetic boys. I am also employed full time outside of the home. I am 38 years old and have had some health set backs that led to my weight gain.

I am looking to lose around 100 pounds with the Atkins WOE. But my ultimate goal is to be healthy and have more energy. I think I'm off to a good start!

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
My wake up call came when my maternity clothes no longer fit. My 'baby' is 4 years old. I am heavier now than the day I gave birth to him.

Health question
This diet is perfectly healthy. I suggest reading one of the Atkins books for a scientific explanation of what the body does with fat.

In short, because your body isn't burning carbs, it burns the body fat you are hanging onto and the fats you are eating. Only when you eat high carb does the body store fat and cholesterol. This is because of insulin.
