Lost so far: 14.0 lb

Current Weight

Performance: losing 1.0 lb a week

Goal Weight
120.0 lb
Still to go: 5.0 lb
After a happy, lazy, comfort food filled 2015, was horrified (albeit not surprised) to discover i'm starting 2016 at my heaviest weight and highest fat percentage ever. I am hoping to lose 20 lbs of fat, and gain some muscle in the process.

Start weight Jan 3, 2016 = 139, body fat 33%

Goal weight: 120, body fat 20-25%

Diet Strategy:
Jan 3-8: Atkins "Fat fast" to get into ketosis quickly. blech, but SO effective

Jan 8 - ?120 goalweight?: Primal blueprint diet - for health and continued slower weight loss. Will limit carbs < 50, ideally < 35. Maybe try to stay in ketosis most of the time. And of course, primal means --no sugar, no grains (no bread or pasta), no processed food, no alcohol (at first, and red wine sparingly later), limited sugary fruits, no juices, no diet soda, ummm and theoretically no legumes (but that one is hard for me, so i might have them now and then).
My DH is insisting we have at least one cheat meal per week, and this seems reasonable to me . . .though i know it will slow down my weightloss.
Luckily - i love to cook, and with all that we can eat -grass fed meats and dairy, sustainable seafood, pastured eggs, all the veggies and most fruits -I think we'll be pretty happy as well as healthy (albeit poorer - this diet can be pricey).

Carbs ugh
for a carb attack, that's actually not too bad! For future attacks, Lily's LCHF chocolate (Salted almond milk) is divine and available at whole foods if you have one near. For chip cravings, howzabout these?

I was thinking of making them for guacamole dipping (subbing cumin for the rosemary in the recipe) -i'll let you know how it goes
