Active 66 year old lady who up until mid 2019 was always a stable weight of 55 kilos but since then I've steadily piled the weight on (especially belly fat) and now 63.5 kilo.
A lot I think was stress related snacking,especially when unable to sleep, plus eating too many nuts
Today I worked out an average evening of snacking quantity Brazil nuts,almonds,dried blueberries and raisins TOTALS over 1000 CALORIES!!!
That's on top of my regular meals.
NO WONDER I'VE PILED THE WEIGHT ON.

Carb and sugar cravings gone
Hi All,
I'm not recommending anyone change their med's but I have a story to tell.
A couple of weeks ago I came off one of my medications I've been on for 22 YEARS and my craving's for carbs and sugar are now almost non-existent.
It could be the meds change only but I've also been determined to try and reset my metabolism by:
1/ Regular gym sessions - 1 hour per session - 3 a week.
2/ Not eating after 8pm leaving a 12 hour fast period till am.
3/ Avoiding processed food - my favourite toast Pan Di Casa/
home made muffins/Arnold's Farm Fruit & Nut Muesli - YUM!!!
4/ Breakfast for the last week has been ISOWHEY "Weight
management" Protein Powder HIGHLY RECCOMEND TRYING and no lunch.
5/ Trying to keep my sugar intake under 60gm per day.
IVE LOST 1 KILO IN A WEEK. My first weight movement for ages.
Having acute Osteo Arthritis and Fibromyalgia is challenging and at times I've had bad muscle spasm and physical tiredness but I'm wondering if my metabolism rest requires more Electrolytes on my gym days so I'm going to add Hydralyte to my water on my exercise days.
Like some of you have mentioned, I too worry about saggy skin around my stomach from weight loss but I hope an exercise routine and gradual weight loss will minimise this.

Gained 1.5 kilo during Covid infection
Bummer!! Very unhappy with my weight now 64.1 Kilo. During my Covid infection I honestly didn't care what I ate. I was just very relieved I didn't get really sick. EG: I made a batch of Fruity Anzac biscuits and ate the lot.!!
Back to watching what I eat but I think for a while my only exercise will be walking as I'm easily fatigued.

Belly Fat
I'm 66 and look 6 months pregnant!!and hate it.
I'm 62.2 kilo in my undies.
2 years ago I was 55 kilo.
My weight gain started on my stomach then my skinny legs started to gain weight as well as my bottom,underarms etc...
Stomach first and last to go I reckon.
Thanks for all the above posts - good reading.
As from a week ago,I'm trying to stay around 500 calories deficit a day and even when I've got 500 up my sleeve for the day I've stopped sweet things which I'm starting to feel it's helping reduce inflammation.
Now that Covid lock down in NSW is easing I will start the gym again.
I've underlying concern I've a fatty liver because I used to be a heavy drinker (stopped altogether 11 months ago) BUT liver function blood tests are good along with cholesterol.
