I think I'm almost officially menopausal (six months almost since the last period) and I have to say that I'm feeling better, except for the hot flashes. I'm hoping that doing a low carb diet will help with that as some say it does, but I'm just also looking for support who will tell me to hang in there, that I can lose the 25 or so lbs that I want to lose!

I'm Chelle, just turned 50, empty-nester (if you can count having 3 dogs and 3 cats as an empty nest) and in too high stress job that I am consciously modifying this year Smile

I am in the same boat - fifty (almost), kids away at college, stressful job and in the midst of it all "old lady disease" as my girlfriends call it. And thanks to all have gained alot of weight this past 18 months.
There is a great low carb group that has daily interaction and keeps you motivated with mini challanges, recipes and support. You might want to check it out.

I just turned 50 in August and still get my period every month. I dont get hot flashes but I get really moody. They say low carb is the way to go!

I never knew a low carb diet would help. I should cut down.
