Very Happy Hey now I'm 27 and looking to lose initially 20 lbs. I am 5'4 and 165 ....ugh it's gross. I gained my weight during pregnanc and expected most of it to fall off once I gave birth and lo and behold I only lost 10 and that was 9 months ago. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
So.....I'm breastfeeding and I'm still hanging onto 20 freakin' fat lbs and the majority of the weight is in my upper body. I look 6 months pregnant still!! LOL.
I know nursing is best for baby but I'm thinking it's not best for mommy this time around since I feel like my body is just holding onto these fat cells with an iron grip.
Anyways.....just thought I'd introduce myself and say Heeeeeeeeey!

I know where you're coming from. I'm 5'3 and when I had my first munchkin 5 years ago, I started out at 140... I just had my second munchkin in December and have hit my ultimate high at 225lbs. I get a lot of support, and I just take knowledge in the fact that I always look heavier to myself than I do to other people. I've been nursing and found that I didn't lose any weight doing so- some people just don't. For my son, though, his digestive system is better (we tried supplementing with formula) and he's definitely healthy (17lbs at 5 months!! lol). But every mother has to make that call for herself. I'm a strong advocate of at least trying to breastfeed as long as you can, but never to do it to the point that you're miserable.
Depending on how old your munchkin is, they also have "baby and me" exercises you can do, so you get that time with your baby, but it also helps build muscle. (You'd think carrying a baby around as much as we do would make us have amazing arms!)
