I just turned 30 and am the exhausted mother of three, plus 1 husband (which we all know is like another kid) and a dog who just started peeing in the house daily since I brought the new baby home...phew. My metabolism has always been slow, but I am now bigger than I have ever been at 230 lbs. I am only 5'4" so you can imagine. I need help! My baby has belly problems so he is still eating all day whenever, at night, and to fall asleep then wakes up when he falls asleep and I lay him down. I am eating the wrong foods at the wrong times. I want to lose weight, I never stop moving, but yet I just sweat all day, no weight loss. Is their a diet I can stay on while nursing my little leach?

My little one is 5 months who is still nursing and I'm also a mother of three (4 if you count the husband) and I follow weight watchers. I just starting about 3 weeks ago and its been going pretty good. Before WW I just ate whatever not really caring what it had in it because I've always been on the small side (average weight 135). Now I find myself obsessed with nutritional facts so I guess it's a good thing. You just need to figure out how many points you get and stick to it. (You do get more points if nursing) Just try to eat healthier and you will start losing. Good Luck!

fivealive - you are too funny. "my little leech!" you are not alone, some days i feel this way too. I say, one, make your hubby get his butt in gear and give you an hour a day to have you time and get some exercise in. Just go for a solid one hour walk - 2 or 3x's a week and you'll see a major difference in your body, but maybe not the scale. You'll have so much energy. I try to take my LO for frequent walks, but it's so dang hot outside here in FL, heat index of 110 degrees!

As far as diet, I'm there with you on not knowing what to do. I'm an extreme person, like if I'm dieting...I'm going to diet - so since I am nursing I unfortunately have to be more careful about what I eat and dont eat. What I'm trying to do is just snack on fruits and veggies throughout the day, brown rice, sweet potatoes with only a little butter, grilled chicken, just plain burgers with some mustard...I eat alot of nuts - peanuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts...I don't know. just a few ideas for you. I try to not limit the amount of foods I eat, I just try to eat the right foods instead!

My LO is 2 months old and I haven't really been focusing on my diet... and by that I mean, I hardly have time to eat. Lol. Anyways, I have been working out and since I started, the weight has been coming off.
I think as long as you are eating good foods and not too much of them, you should be able to still lose.
Good luck! I'm 5'4, too, btw!
