I just joined and I need youse guys to beat me (verbally) into submission. I have a whole closet of beautiful clothes that don't fit and I want to wear them again, even if they are out of date!Laughing

I get so tired with work etc. that I put off doing things like this for me! Instead of working out these days I go to work, come home, make dinner and veg in front of the almighty tube.

Tried to get my husband interested in helping me but he just drops the ball so I am jumping in to this to try to get me up and out.

Thanks for the push (and I had better go to the beach NOW so I have something to report back).

I did go to the beach and worked out down there - H2O Aerobics & Swimming, plus some crunches. I am going to give myself a pat on the back!

A big pat on the back from me. I have yet to work out today. I'm going to work before long, but I will get in gear. Good luck!

Thanks ccc. Noone seems motivated to give input to these boards lately, it is too nice here and of course there is work, always work. I do need the encouragement.

Do ya think I picked a beet cause I am always beat?Bad Grin

I joined the 100 pushup challenge too, tested yesterday and am starting the workout today. Once you start something doing the rest is easier. AND we have leftovers for dinner so I don't have to cook. Maybe I can sneak away to the beach before settling in to watch the almighty tube.

You get up and GO, ccc! Tell me how you did today.

Hey BDDB, please read the post I just put in today to CCC in another board discussion in this group.

I think it would really benefit you to read that entrySmile

I am here for all of you. I have been through this journey for a long time now (18 months), and nothing is ever easy where weight loss in concerned.

You need to realize that this is your OWN personal journey and NOT your husbands or your friends or your co-workers....it is all you and you only.

You have to lose the weight for you and although we (on fatsecret and this group) are here for you, it is your own personal feelings about your failures and triunphs that will get you through to the next step in your journey.

Take it in baby steps okay? Rome wasn't built in a day and so, your weight loss will not be either.

Trust me, you are NOT alone in this battle. This is why the health industry is a multimillion dollar industry. People gain and lose weight all the time, and we are always looking for the quick fix.

It is only when you sit back and take a good look at things that are going on in your life, you can take a step back and see what it is that makes you tick.

By truly understanding what makes you tick will be the ticket to curing your apprehensions and insecurities that will help you through your journey.

I am here for you anytime you need a sounding board my friend. No one said this would be easy, but it helps to have friends (even if they live thousands of miles apart online) to help you through thisSmile

Thanks Strawberry! I do get tired but I should know "no pain no gain" as much of my life in the past has been involved with sports. How did I let this happen to me!!!! Ah well, you are correct, now is the time to change things.

I used to be able to self motivate but lately I haven't been able to do it alone so that is why I tried to get my hub to join me. Also I thought working out would be good for both of us.

Anyway when I saw this website I decided to go for it so I am very happy to have found you all (although I hate the name of the website). And instead of a specific diet I am just doing what I can here & there, cutting back on volume & carbs and eating more veggies & fruit.

I joined two exercise challenges and so far - only a few days - I have done these and more. AND fit it into my crazy exhausting routine. Little steps and it is not that hard so far. I even worked around going out to lunch and dinner, and tried to be somewhat sensible although I didn't give up everything.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I read your profile and you are to be praised for keeping this up even when not feeling well. Good luck with the operation - I hope all goes well.

Good for you! See? It doesn't take much to just get out and give the gift of exercise to yourself. Most people just get caught up in the mundane day to day things that they forget that even just a walk in the outdoors will boost your mind and spiritSmile

Way to go!
