I am lucky that the yummy food of the holidays won't hold as much of a temptation for me this year. My son has allergies to soy and dairy proteins and as I am breast feeding (he is only 3 1/2 months) those foods have been cut out as well. The big problem that I will have is feeling like I never get anything that I want and so I go crazy on the foods that I can have (so not pretty). I am making sure that my house is always stocked with fruits and vegetables. It is easier to make good decisions when healthy food is available. If anyone knows ways to make vegetables taste delicious without use of butter, pass it along. I used to love salad, but every dressing that I have seen at the store has soy or dairy. I am getting sick of oil and vinegar. I have tried salsa, but that is getting old too. Any good salad dressings recipes out there?

One of my favorite dressings is to just use balsamic vinegar and truffle oil. Only a few drops of truffle oil go a long way, so calories are pretty low if you use it that way. Sometimes I'll mix itup and add a little dried minced onion and some garlic powder -- allowing it to sit for a few minutes to rehydrate. MMMMM...
