Hi everyone. I am new to the group and new to Atkins. I have been tying to follow rules exactly. I'm having a little trouble getting my full 20 carbs a day. I love this diet tho because I always feel full and I just plain feel better all around. I need a heart and lung transplant but have to lose 120 lbs first. I have no luck with counting calories. Always hungry. I have already lost 9 lbs in 1 week.

You don't have to get all your carbs in, that is just a maximum. Just make sure you get the recommended number of veggies.

The good thing with this diet is you never count calories, you only count net carbs, which is Total Carbohydrates minus Dietary Fiber= Total net carbs. If you go to the Atkins official website it has a pdf version of acceptable foods in the introduction phases that can be eaten. Plan a day a head to see what you want to eat so that you can prepare your journal of foods. See if this works for you.
