Hello everyone, new member here. Fat Secret was recommended on HealthLine, so I downloaded the app, and here I am. Let me tell you how I got here: I am age 67, retired, 5 ft - 7 in, and as of Oct 14 weighed 280 lbs. That is also the day of my hip replacement surgery. Prior to surgery, I gave a lot of thought of what I could do as far as self improvement, because I have a lot of down time. I have been heavy for a long time, and there are a lot of things I can't do anymore because of my weight. So I decided this time I'm going to get serious. I decided I must do two things to finally get healthy and lose weight: I need to count calories, I'm tracking 2000 calories per day, with the help of this app, and it is working. Secondly, I know I need to give up alcohol. I have not had any booze for 3 weeks now, and I feel so much better! Also, I am doing some strength training with dumbbells while sitting in my recliner. I weighed in this morning at 264 lbs, and my goal is 200 lbs. With the help of Fat Secret, and the other changes I have mentioned, I honestly believe I can do this! I'm tired of being obese and out of shape. Better days are coming!

Welcome. I too have lessened mobility due to weight. Never give up. You are worth the effort.

I am discouraged by 2.1# weight gain on scale today. I really don't know what else to do. My ketones were good--1.2 so I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Time to take measurements again and figure progress since starting on September 17
