Hi all. Have taken a different approach this time, and am counting calories to slowly lose weight vs. doing it in a rush. Have lost 10 pounds in about 12 weeks, but find that weight comes off a few pounds at a time it seems, then plateaus for a few weeks, then comes off again. Am trying to eat an average of 1,450 calories/day, and weigh myself daily. Gives a much more accurate picture than just weighing once a week, because I find that my weight fluctuates 1-2 pounds per day even when I am doing the same thing. In any case, this is what works for me. Will be travelling for the holidays, and know it will be a challenge to stick to my calorie count with so many restaurant meals. Have already decided that if I can get from 12/20 (start of trip) to 1/2 with only a 1-2 pound gain, I'll be happy!

Good luck with that. I too have decided to look at counting calories again. Used to do that when i was young too. I think i have a book of calorie count somewhere but have worked out that 1/2 cup of rolled oats is 150 calories and one apple is 80 calories. I eat more than that!
