Hi,I am new to this site and group. Quick intro about myself is that very soon I will be 70 and am really starting to feel the aches and soreness of this age. I have lost and kept off for 3 yrs. now 50 lbs. I am trying to lose another 15 lbs. to get back to what I feel is my optimum weight. However I am stuck in neutral in the sense that I keep gaining and losing the same 5-8 pounds for about the last 6 months now. Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed. At my age can't see a reason for completely giving up some of my favorite foods which I did while losing the 50 lbs.

One thing all the weight loss gurus suggest is to keep drinking up to 8 glasses of water a day. Another thing to stop from over eating at a meal is to eat an apple or carrot before the meal. Good luck with your weight loss journey. Cheers.

I also am within 15 pounds of my goal, age 66 and have a slow metabolism. Right now I can't drink a lot of water since I started a new temp job and don't want to run to the bathroom every 30 minutes! But on my days off I'll go back to drinking a lot (of water, lol)

You are doing well with over 20 lbs. banished in a few months. Learning to eat with better choices is sustainable too! I lost 30 the past year and want to lose another 12 over the next year. I am feeding my body the nutrition it requires and concentrating more on exercising to lose the weight. A stroke as a 173 lb. 61 year old retiree woke me up! I joined to count calories, and to feel accountable. Some use the site I think to condone their indulgences as others do. Sure we "splurge" on a special occasion and I am thankful to be here everyday! I enjoy my choice of better foods and eat whatever (good and bad) in rational portions. I was hoping to learn some secrets that work for some ......ground flax is a keeper!

I am still in battle with my last 12 to 15 pounds. Go up & down & all around. I feel better when I am on my plan for at least 2-3 days in a row. I've started drinking more water lately and that seems to help also. The holidays don't help at all. But this week I have gotten my head back in the game Smile
