I really need someone to help me stay on track. I keeping gaining then losing and don't want to spend yet another year doing this. I need motivation in a big way. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Have a good day

Perhaps we can help each other. I'm 53, 177 pounds...trying to get to 165. 3 years ago I lost 25 pounds, got down to 157 (probably too much weight loss) and felt great. Counting abs in mirror and everything.

To my chagrin, I put it all back on, but the experience has taught me alot. so...

I looked at your exercise posting and would suggest that you look into anaerobic excercise (wgt lifting) to supplement your walking. Muscle burns more calories than fat, and this whole game is about creating a new set point for your body. There are very effective programs which you can do at home - the p90x program (advanced or starter) is a great way to get started.

I also don't think you are eating should have 5 meals each day, with equal portions of protein and low glycemic carbs (whole wheat, vegetables) Processing food is one of the more calorie intensive things your body does, and the goal is to keep that furnace going all day long.

But enough...tell me if you have heard this all before and I won't bore you with it. This certainly isn't easy, but I'm completely motivated to go down and stay down this time: it will require a eating regime that I'm willing to live with my whole life.
