Group Forum: Getting eating back to it

I just joined this group this morning. I really want to get back to my ideal weight. I do try to find time to exercise/walk everyday but it doesn't seem to be doing much. It seems to be so much harder to lose weight after 40. Why is that? Or is that just all in my head?

Exact same problem - what happened to my metabolism? Has anyone seen it?

My stress hormones at work has caused me to eat alot of bad things for comfort. But the only comfort that has been happening is my waist is getting way out of control as well as other areas. I think that in our 40's, with metabolism slowing and (and in my life)stress accumulating (on my job), too much insulin is swimming around in my body trying to do something with all those bad carbohydrates and the increased stress hormone (cortisol). So it gets easily store as FAT. I have been now trying to eat what is good for my body and trying to exercise more. REading a wonderful book too.Hopefully, I will see wonderful results.
