Hey all! I'm 34, 5'0" and 187 lbs. I am starting a challenge tomorrow called: 30 Pounds Down by 2014. I would love some company from people in my age range and with similar weight goals! .... (Or anyone that wants to challenge themselves with me!)

I'm 32 and weigh 203. I'm 5'8". I am trying to lose 30-50, depending on how things go--if I can lose 30 lbs of pure fat and get lean and strong at 170, I would be happy with that. More likely I won't get my results with anything above 165, but I suppose we'll see.

I would LOVE to lose 30 lbs by 2014, but that is not a realistic goal for me, I don't think. I'm skeptical, anyway. I have been trying to lose weight since June and have not lost anything.

Here's what I am doing instead: I am trying to meet macronutrient goals: 30% fat, 20% protein, 50% carbs within a certain calorie range, and I am setting myself concrete physical goals. For example, I want to be able to do at least one full pull up by the time I turn 33 next year.

Other strategies have just not been working for me...I get obsessed with calories, and end up sacrificing food quality, stressing out over eating, etc. So I am trying to add more veggies and eat more whole foods.
